Develops and oversees web site management content and design guidelines for all web sites across the College of Medicine. Coordinates with Pixo consulting firm and with UIC Red Team to optimize approaches, outcomes and efficiency. 

Based on broad input, designs and manages improvements to the web content management system to improve the end user experience and to improve the content manager’s ability to update and repurpose content.

Oversee the work of content managers and web staff across all departments of the College. Oversees provision of web content management and web site hosting technical support as needed.

Collaborates closely with the UI Health Hospital & Clinics Director of Web and Digital Services in order to closely align the sharing of content across the entirety of the College of Medicine and UI Health regarding faculty physician profiles, physician services, news about faculty accomplishments, and information on innovative research and patient care. 

Oversees day-to-day operations, maintenance, and content development on the web site; coordinates technical development efforts in support of content and graphic requirements; interfaces with UIC and UI COM groups on marketing and information technology, along with outside vendors, to direct ongoing web site development.

Monitors, measures, and evaluates web site effectiveness and makes recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness of web site pages and content in support of the College of Medicine’s mission across education, research, and clinical care.

Oversees governance structure and site access for content authors; oversees and provides quality control for site content across the College; oversees web staff across all areas of the College to oversee content published.

Oversees the writing and editing process for site content for web sites across the College of Medicine web environment. Ensures adherence to branding standards and guidelines across College of Medicine web sites.

Coordinates the production of artwork for web sites. Interfaces with UIC and UI COM staff members to oversee the graphic design process as it relates to web sites.

Oversees marketing related web communications initiatives (i.e., Google analytics, search engine optimization).

Regularly evaluates competitor medical school web sites to evaluate best practices and to adopt new concepts and procedures to make the College’s web sites more helpful and impactful in meeting the targeted audience needs of prospective and current students, prospective and current faculty, staff, prospective and current patients, alumni, donors, and news media.

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
