Job Summary
 

Chicago Booth School of Business (Chicago Booth) Full Time Admissions team. This position will be responsible for the successful planning and execution of large-scale recruitment and yield events for the Full-Time and undergraduate deferred admission pathways at Chicago Booth, including full planning and ownership of the twice a year First Day event (Admit Weekend) and oversight of student and staff-hosted recruiting events.

Responsibilities

  • Leads global event strategy planning. Manages yearly event calendar, event coordination, and coordinates with Admissions Marketing to promote event opportunities to prospective students, admitted students, and alumni volunteers.
  • Serves as oversight and strategy lead for the twice a year First Day event for admitted students on campus.
  • Coordinates all contracts, outreach with venues and external vendors as well as manage the overall outreach budget for on and off-campus events.
  • Manages 1 FTE member responsible for coordination and execution of First Day event for admitted students on campus, externally hosted events including student hosted, information sessions, fairs, etc; assure that externally hosted events align with global calendar and other strategic priorities.
  • Works with current students to best coordinate their efforts in hosting events, global outreach and serving as a resource for prospective students.
  • Serves as a leader of the Admissions Fellows Global Booth Ambassadors team. Manages meetings, volunteers, and country captain recruitment.
  • Participates as a member of the Admissions Committee, including hosting recruitment events and information sessions worldwide, conducting candidate evaluation, and supervising programmatic yield activities.
  • Participates in all aspects of the full-time MBA and deferred admission pathway recruitment, selection, and yield process.
  • Expands outreach messaging via alumni clubs and special events and/or reunions. Maintains updated alumni contact records and cultivates new contacts in appropriate industries. Manages portfolio of prospective students that require special handling.
  • Manages regional event programming such as receptions and career trek field trips for students. Works independently to expand outreach to employers in the region.
  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
 

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Experience:

  • Higher education and/or admissions experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with small to large-scale event planning, event budget management and aligning budgets with strategic priorities.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

  • SLATE experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Preferred Competencies

  • A proven record of accomplishment of time management and organizational skills, as well as exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent public speaking skills with an established ability to conduct and lead large group presentations and trainings.
  • Handle multiple detailed tasks/projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines with frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, as well as with students, faculty and corporate contacts in a multitude of communication methods i.e., in person, email, phone.
  • Professional demeanor, including tact, discretion, and a customer service-oriented approach.
