What We’re Looking For 


Baylor University is seeking a full-time Associate Director of Rehabilitation Services-Football. To provide athletic training and rehabilitative services for the football program under the direction of a Team Physician.  


A Master's degree, 2 years of relevant work experience, and an active Christian faith are required. 4 years of relevant work experience is preferred. 

All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.


What You Will Do 


Clinical Management and Medical Care

  • Transition Management
    • Develop, implement, and review return to sport programing for student-athletes in transition from restricted activity due to medically related conditions, significant breaks in the academic calendar and other reasons for absence from participation in sport. 
    • In conjunction with the Assistant AD of Athletic Medicine for Football, develop close working relationships with other units within Health and Wellness (including Athletics Performance and Applied Performance Staff) to facilitate safe return to play for student-athletes.
  • Ensure rehabilitation and return-to-play of short-term, post-surgical, and long-term injuries for football student-athletes in conjunction with the Assistant AD of Athletic Medicine for Football.
  • Concussion care and rehabilitation for student-athletes in football in conjunction with the Football Athletic Medicine Staff.
  • Collaborate as part of the multidisciplinary medical team (e.g., Athletic Medicine staff and team physicians and outside providers) on specific concussion case management progressions.
  • Schedule and manage outpatient physical therapy services for football student-athletes.

Communication

  • Review and communicate utilization of the latest evidence-based techniques and modalities in order to achieve improved outcomes and RTP following injury.
  • Communicate with sports performance staff knowledge of strength and conditioning programs including coordination of group and individualized injury prevention programming as instructed by Director of Athletic Medicine – Football.

Administrative and Clinical Education

  • Establish metrics for continuous performance improvement and improved patient outcomes.
  • Provide education to patients, coaches, support staff, administrators, and parents.
  • Train and educate athletic medicine staff on emerging topics regarding concussion management and rehabilitation.
  • Assist with education of Master of Athletic Training Students.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Baylor Physical Therapy Program.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
