Summary of Position
Under the general direction of the TRIO Director, the Associate Director manages the daily activities and resources for the PASS Office tutoring program and assists in the day-to-day management of the TRIO Student Support Services grant, which is designed to increase the retention and graduation rates of eligible participants (low income and/or first-generation students, or students with disabilities). In conjunction with the grant project director provides direct supervision of full-time staff supporting the PASS program to ensure project activities are implemented. Manages the delivery and coordination of peer tutoring and assists with the various special projects, such as the Connection Days Summer Bridge Program. The Associate Director collaborates with partners across campus to increase the awareness of the PASS Office and TRIO program to leverage crucial services that support student success.

Other minimum qualifications
  • Minimum of a master’s degree in education, Counseling, or related field.
  • Proven commitment to the needs of disadvantaged students with a minimum of five years of experience serving this population required.
  • Five years of experience in work related to planning, organizing, and coordinating peer academic support tutoring model in higher education settings.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written means.
  • Proven interpersonal, organizational, supervisory, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel and familiarity with university database systems.
  • Available extended hours in the summer, and some nights and weekends.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a staff member for a TRIO program and college-level teaching experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience with educational programs.
  • Familiarity with Plymouth State University as an instructor and/or staff member.
  • Experience with Canvas, Banner, UKG/Kronos and Microsoft Teams preferred.
