SummaryThis individual serves as the primary graphic designer for the athletics department, as well as overseeing direction and strategy for all social media platforms for the department. This includes graphic design for all social media, some video board work, as well as printed materials. Experience with logo creation is preferred. The position will oversee the department's role on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, while guiding the department on other forms of emerging media/technology.
Essential Functions- Oversee day-to-day operations of graphic design and creation of both digital media and printed materials. This includes providing leadership in designing, developing and education of graphics work throughout the entire athletics department. This position must have the knowledge and skills to utilize Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Additional Adobe programs to design digital, small scale and large-scale printed projects. Organize and prioritize projects and manage task workload.
- Create and implement the day-to-day usage of the BGSU athletics brand. Direct individuals in the athletics department as well as external entities on the management of our athletics brand. Oversee the training of designers and staff members who assist in the creation of graphic design pieces. Explore new trends, tools and opportunities to ensure BGSU athletics is at the front of the pack in terms of branding.
- Directs a team of designers including a paid assistant on a daily basis. Recruit, hire and oversee day-to-day tasks of creative services assistant. Manage their tasks to assist with workload. Recruit, hire and oversee student interns. Provide guidance and support to staff in the implementation of the brand.
- Assist with the management of social media for all of our athletics teams. Ensure that there is a consistent brand and message among our 18 programs. Create specific sized graphics, motion graphics and videos that work with the different social media outlets. Collaborate with external agencies and media vendors to design or create electronic elements. Ensure graphics are both attention-grabbing and provide key information.

Minimum QualificationsThe following Degree is required:
Bachelor’s degree. Degree must be conferred at time of application.
The following Degree is preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication Technology, Graphic Design, Sport Management, Communications or a related field
The following Experience is required:
- 1-year graphic design experience
- 2 years of experience as a GA or student employee is equal to 1 year of professional experience
