Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Associate Director of Clinical Training in the Counseling Psychology Department assists in coordinating field placement experience for the students in the Counseling Psychology program.  This position collaborates with the Director of Clinical Training as well as the campus wide OPT team. The Associate Director of Clinical Training in the Counseling Psychology Department acts as a liaison between the academic program faculty, the training sites, and the students.  This position reports to the Director of Clinical Training in the Counseling Psychology Department.

Principle Duties:

  • Consult on the development and maintenance of a network of training sites, as well as relationships with site supervisors.

  • Oversee the education of students who are new to the field placement search processes and practices.

  • Consult with students who are encountering issues related to their field placement experience.

  • Manage the flow of information regarding students’ progress, as well as problems, to faculty, and/or practicum/internship sites.

  • Oversee the review of field placement evaluations and related training documentation in Tevera, the OPT database system.

  • Consult on the development of new Office of Placement & Training initiatives and projects.

  • Ability to work with specific concentrations within the Counseling Psychology department (Latinx Mental Health, Child & Adolescent Treatment, Health Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Treatment of Addiction Disorders, Trauma and Crisis Intervention), providing support and participating in planning and development of sites offering field placement experiences for students in that concentration.

  • Participate on a Faculty Council committee as assigned.

  • Participate in the Counseling Psychology faculty department meetings.

  • Consult on the development and maintenance of coursework pertinent to Office of Placement & Training.

  • Interact and communicate successfully with a diverse population.

  • Act in a way that embodies the mission, vision, and values of The Chicago School.

  • Adhere to all confidentiality requirements.

  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Clinical Training in the Counseling Psychology Department.

  • Maintain updated knowledge of ACA licensure and code of ethics.

Position Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of professional training experience.

  • Licensed as a clinical psychologist or LCPC.

  • Doctoral degree and/or Master’s degree in counseling, counseling psychology or relevant area of study.

  • Ability to travel to site locations.

Compensation & Benefits

This opportunity is budgeted at $$70,000 - 85,000 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
