Department Summary
The College of Pharmacy at the University of North Texas Health Science Center College of Pharmacy is seeking to hire an Associate Director of Academic Communications to join our team. This position will work in a positive, team-centered environment to provide visibility for the College. The candidate will serve as the key communications advisor for the College of Pharmacy in all areas of strategic communications, collegiate branding, digital strategy, and marketing. This person is responsible for all communications and marketing initiatives supporting all relevant programs. They are also responsible for providing all communication and marketing support to the units they serve.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of strategic communications, marketing and branding practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows
  • Strong business acumen and excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing collateral design Experience in digital media
Preferred Qualifications

Job Duties


o
Serve as the senior communications and strategy officer for the college.
Develop and implement robust, integrated, strategic communication plans to achieve objectives and goals with external steak holders and strategic partners. 
Bring together all facets of strategic messaging, media relations, print and online communications, issues and crisis management, and messaging with the appropriate department(s) and the Communication Team at UNTHSC.
Coordinate and maintain an integrated social media program based on identified goals and objectives. 
Manage internal messaging for faculty, staff and students within the respective college and programs. 
Develop a strong network of contacts among staff, faculty and students to generate leads on unique and compelling stories. 
Manage projects and special events for the college and programs, coordinating with multiple departments and external agencies if needed. 
Work and collaborate with service departments to ensure operational processes are timely and efficient to meet the needs of the College of Pharmacy
