JOB DESCRIPTION

The MITS Local Applications team supports Administration and Planning (A&P), Business and Finance (B&F), and Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) is responsible for a diverse portfolio of 263+ applications serving mission-critical operations for over 25 individual business units. 

This leadership position is responsible for team development, project/resource management, portfolio management, relationship management, problem-solving, communications, and the overall effectiveness of the MITS local applications team.

This role is an innovative strategic thinker with an open and collaborative style of leadership and management that fosters teamwork, sustains a learning environment for staff, and develops a dedicated, results-oriented, and customer-focused team that delivers recognizable and relevant and impactful value to our MITS customers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; 7 years of experience leading technical teams of varying sizes and technologies including ERP development; Experience in enterprise-level project leadership, system implementations, conversions and retirements; Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees, peers, executive leadership, customers, vendors, technical team members and others; Demonstrated expertise of building consensus across diverse business groups and leaders, and influencing successful outcomes; Consistent exercise of judgment and discretion in matters of significance; Strategic thinking with ability to combine broad business, technical and political factors; Deep understanding of program and project management across multiple industries; Budget management experience; Expert knowledge in schedule management; Expert knowledge in various vertical industries and conveys knowledge to others; Pursues excellence in all aspects of business.

DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE


15+ years of experience in a role that is responsible for specific technologies, specialties and/or disciplines (e.g. applications development, networking, telephony, data base administration, etc.); Experience in previous IT management role leading a technical engagement; Experience in formal project leadership with various project lifecycle methodologies (waterfall, agile, iterative, etc.); Project management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple large sized IT projects and strategic initiatives.



Additional Information:

The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $125,000 to $167,000.
