Associate Director, Finance & Administration

  Responsible for the financial and administrative activities of the Department of Neurosurgery under the authority of the Department Chair and the Vice Dean for Finance & Administration. Development and execution of strategic planning initiatives. Oversight of the business and administrative functions within the clinical (including revenue cycle), research (pre-award and post award), education, contract, and human resource activities of center. Budget development, manage and monitor revenue and expenses, including execution of variance action plans. Oversee all faculty and staff related issues and transactions, including management compensation plans, recruitment, and onboarding. Responsible for productivity and efficiency of operations across all functions. Provide administrative leadership in the formulation, interpretation and management of all policies, procedures, and programs. Directly manages and maintains the department's all-funds budget, including financial planning efforts with an emphasis on executing strategic initiatives. Coordinate the compilation of and prepare operational and financial reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.  Oversees all details related to contract management, including negotiations, deliverables, invoicing, accounts receivable, reporting and operations.  Serves as the point of contact for all faculty related business and administrative processes and transactions and supports promotion and tenure processes. In concert with the Department Chair, develops, presents and manages the faculty compensation plans, faculty assignments and deployment. Oversees the Department's clinical revenue cycle functions, including identifying issues and solutions to optimize charge capture, lag, coding accuracy, initial denials, and controllable write offs.

Required Education:              

Master’s Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration, Finance or Accounting

   

Required Experience:             

5 years accounting or business related experience.
