Description of Work
As a member of the senior leadership team, the Associate Director will work with the Director and other associate directors to establish strategic goals and objectives, implement strategies, conduct research and assessment, supervise staff, assist in the oversight of fiscal management, and in the evaluation of Campus Recreation offerings and services. The associate director will provide leadership and assure the professional development of staff members in key unit areas. Currently Fitness Programs & Nutrition Education, Strength, Custodial/Housekeeping and Maintenance Operations, areas are subject to change based on composition of leadership team. Position will contribute to oversight of small construction projects within Campus Recreation facilities.
Ideal candidate will have successful track record serving on a collegiate recreation senior leadership team and/or Director experience. Management of projects, financial reporting and analysis, collaborating, building relationships with campus partners, and excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are a must.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Management, Student Personnel Services, Athletic Administration, Sociology or related fields is preferred. Six years professional administrative experience in the collegiate recreation profession with exposure to facility management, supervision, budget preparation and administration, and equipment purchasing. Evidence of project management. Demonstration of financial reporting and analysis,
Ability to collaborate and build relationships with campus partners
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills CPR/First Aid or the ability to obtain within six months of date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Previously held position on the senior level leadership team of a collegiate recreation department and/or director position.
