Job Description

The position is an administrative as well as a pastoral one. It will aid in the efficient and effective operations of the Office of Campus Ministry and enhance the overall quality of its programs, activities and professional development.

Long Term Planning:  Assist the Director of Campus Ministry in reviewing, assessing, imagining and expanding the Campus Ministry retreat and service programs with the goal of creating two truly comprehensive sets of programs that nourish the needs of undergraduate participants to know God more personally and serve God more generously throughout their academic years; Assist in recruiting spiritual mentors on campus (Jesuits from Both the St. Mary and Faber communities, and others steeped in Ignatian spirituality) to collaborate with campus ministers to provide students with greater opportunities to nurture a deeper relationship with Jesus, engage regularly in reflection and prayer rooted in Ignatian spirituality beyond the boundaries of BC.

Supervision:  Support and evaluate the performance of campus ministers responsible for and involved in Campus Ministry service programs to guarantee that they reflect Jesuit and Catholic values as well as enhance the mission of the University; Assess programs for growth and development and to assure that programs embody University principles and meet the religious and spiritual needs of the students.

BET & Student Conduct:  Be the CM liaison to BET. Attend conduct meetings when necessary.  Assist Jessica Graff in managing Resident Ministers ON Call duty schedules. Facilitate communication and follow-up regarding at risk students with all appropriate personnel within Campus Ministry.  Serve as the CM liaison with Office of Dean of Student Development about conduct issues and the University Companion Program.

Department Meetings and Planning Days:  Prepare agendas for all meetings and Office planning days as well as facilitating department meetings and planning days.

Other Responsibilities:  Respond to assignments designated by the Director that require attention and implementation for the overall well-being and mission of the Office as well as make time for regular meetings with the Director and others on the leadership team to continually assess programs and activities in view of immediate and long-term Office needs, objectives and goals.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $75,150 to $94,950; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

  • Master Degree in Theology, Divinity, Pastoral Ministry, Spirituality or related field of study.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in progressively responsible positions within an educational setting, preferably a Jesuit institution.
  • Affinity and commitment to Ignatian spirituality and values as well as Catholic Social Teaching.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral, evidenced by an ability to prepare comprehensive reports and executive summaries.
  • Professional and personal behavior consistent with the vision, mission, and values of a Jesuit and Catholic institution.
