Associate Director, Business Operations
Athletics
Location:  New Orleans, LA
Summary

Under the direction of the Associate Athletics Director, Business Operations, this position assists with managing the day-to-day operations of the business office.  Performs a combination of calculating and verifying duties to obtain financial data for use in the monitoring and administration of departmental accounts. Reviews and processes all paperwork and financial requests associated with budget maintenance, such as purchasing, travel, and invoicing. Assists in preparing the budget and other financial planning.  Assists in preparing the budget documents, including updating budgetary information. 


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Ability to exercise sound judgment within established guidelines, as well as be an intrinsically motivated self-starter
Must maintain confidentiality and use utmost discretion when privy to sensitive information.
Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Strong interpersonal skills 
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively with coaches, administrators, student-athletes and vendors
Strong organizational, management, and leadership skills
Ability to multi-task effectively, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines
Available to work flexible work schedule including nights and weekends
Ability to travel with sports teams for away contests as required or needed
Through knowledge of NCAA and American Conference rules and regulations
Required Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a closely related field 


Two years’ experience in accounting
Experience with budget development and monitoring
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in business or closely related field
Experience at the NCAA Division I level
Compensation Information
This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade null.
