Description of Work
As a member of the College of Business’s senior management team, the Associate Dean of Faculty and Research provides oversight of faculty affairs and research within the college. The faculty affairs duties include managing the promotion and tenure process, faculty annual/third year reviews, faculty contracts, interviewing faculty candidates, supporting chairs with faculty development leave requests, professorship/chair nominations, emeritus status and facilitating faculty governance through college committees, among other things. The research responsibilities include coordination of the Ph.D. programs including curriculum, assessment of learning, recruitment, and assistantship awards, to ensure these programs are offered in a coordinated way and delivered at a high level to meet overall program goals. The associate dean also facilitates the research funds requests, faculty research awards, and oversight of summer research awards.
The Associate Dean builds strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote the scope and impact of our faculty, research, and Ph.D. programs. This individual participates in College of Business management team meetings and other committees and represents the College of Business within and outside the College and University on matters related to faculty, research, and PhD programs.
Expected 1.0 FTE appointment split as .70 Associate Dean (administration) and .30 Professor.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Doctorate or terminal degree in business or a related field of study.
  • Tenured full professor.
  • Excellent decision-making and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with diverse internal and external constituencies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of experience in developing and achieving the elements of a strategic plan.
  • Proven ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • University supervisory experience.
