Job Summary 

Provide oversight for all aspects of administration and operation of the MD program at the DUCOM-Tower Health campus, serving as a primary advocate and spokesperson for the campus; Provide leadership and direction for faculty and Dean’s office administrators at the Tower Health campus, taking responsibility for their administrative HR matters.

Essential Functions 

  • Oversee and administer an effective student environment, curriculum delivery and experience that is comparable across DUCOM campuses.
  • Take responsibility for campus performance and educational outcomes, working with the main Philadelphia campus to adjust where necessary.
  • Interpret and implement DUCOM policies at the local campus level.
  • Develop and manage resources essential to the achievement of campus objectives and goals.
  • Be accountable for the Joint Operating Committee budget for the Tower Health campus.
  • Ensure, through the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the development and maintenance of a positive campus environment for students.
  • Participate in the recruitment and mentoring of a cadre of outstanding faculty in medical education, connecting faculty with resources throughout the medical campus and university.
  • Reach out to the local community in order to engage in developing productive collaborations and mutually beneficial interactions.
  • Lead and participate in various Drexel committees, including Executive Committee of the Faculty, the Dean’s Collaborative, the Campus Collaborative, Curriculum and Admissions (ex-officio);
  • In collaboration with the Drexel department chairs lead the faculty appointment and promotion process for faculty at the DUCOM[1]Tower Health campus
  • Identify Reading Hospital faculty for participation in various DUCOM committees and teaching activities.
  • Serve as a viable resource for faculty success and identify faculty and professional development needs.
  • Contribute to annual faculty performance evaluations for faculty at the DUCOM-Tower Health campus.
  • Participate in maintenance of accreditation standards and monitor compliance.
  • Represent the Drexel-Tower Health campus educational mission to Tower Health and Drexel University stakeholders..
  • Along with the Chief Academic Officer of Tower Health, coordinate the undergraduate and graduate medical education missions.
  • Serve on appropriate Drexel-Tower Health managing committees as requested.

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of a Medical Doctor degree.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a medical education setting; including successful performance in a demonstrated leadership role, strongly prefer prior experience working in undergraduate medical education.
  • Experience in education and knowledge of trends in medical education.
  • Demonstrated success in working well with faculty, administrators and students in an educational environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading implementation projects in medical education.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in education and knowledge of trends in medical education.
  • Demonstrated success in working well with faculty, administrators and students in an educational environment.
  • Knowledge of education pedagogy, assessment, and latest trends in medical education.
  • Experience in medical education curriculum development and administration.
  • Familiarity with LCME accreditation standards and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and management skills.
  • Passion for and commitment to medical student education.

Physical Requirements 

  • Typically sitting at a desk/table.

Additional Information 

This is a part-time Faculty position classified as Exempt. The salary offered is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
