Pitt-Bradford is seeking an experienced campus leader and engaged student affairs professional to be the inaugural Associate Dean of Inclusion & Belonging. This is a full-time 12-month position reporting directly to the Vice President and Dean of Student Affairs.

Duties:

Leading Inclusion & Belonging

• Provides leadership to the development of programs to promote cultural competence, diversity consciousness, and the knowledge and skills necessary to engage in a plural society

• Promotes inclusion and belonging within the campus community through the delivery of strategic programs, initiatives, services, and constructive, intentional dialogue across all intersections of identities

• Builds collaborative partnerships with faculty, student affairs professionals, student leadership groups, and community members to advance the work of inclusion and belonging

• Provides leadership to a campus-level diversity grant program in support of a wide array of programming, community learning, and research opportunities that foster the development of belonging.

Centering Students of Diverse and Minoritized Backgrounds and Identities

• Counsels and guides students, faculty, staff, and administration on issues related to inclusion and belonging and the needs and experiences of minoritized students.

• Oversees space on campus dedicated to students of diverse and minoritized backgrounds and identities.

• Contributes to Pitt-Bradford’s response to bias-related campus incidents and highlights support resources and services to enhance sense of safety and belonging among minoritized students.

• Oversees Office of Inclusion & Belonging mentorship programs, including the selection, training, and supervision of mentors.

• Advises and supports multicultural and identity-based student organizations.

Overseeing the Work of the Office

• Manages the Office of Inclusion & Belonging, including the selection, development, supervision, and evaluation of the Coordinator of International Student Services and Global Citizenship and Coordinator of Equity and Accessibility.

• Serves on the President’s Advisory Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and other campus committees, including a Heritage and Awareness Month Committee.

Hiring Range: $65,000 – $85,000/Year.

Requirements: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant student affairs, DEI, or higher education field along with at least 7 years’ area-relevant experience. Masters preferred.

Combination of education and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education and/ or experience requirement.

Job Summary

Directs and facilitates strategic diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives for the University and manages overall organization educational engagements. Develops and incorporates inclusion initiatives. Counsels leadership, plans educational outreach, and assists in policy development.


Essential Functions 

-Overseeing and leading the office of Inclusion & Belonging

-Supervising two coordinator positions within the office

-Programming, projecting, and implementing strategic goals for the office


Physical Effort 

Generally sedentary position, requiring basic mobility, communication, and strength. Long periods of sitting and standing, as well as traversal around campus for meetings.
