Job Summary
Provides confidential assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic services through outreach and counseling. Develops individual client therapy plans. Designs and conducts developmental and outreach activities that will facilitate student growth. If required by licensure level, abides by supervision agreement with clinical supervisor. Abides by relevant code of ethics and laws, such as the American Psychological Association Ethics Code and Ohio State Laws regarding the practice of Psychology. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field.
  • Experience providing individual counseling services to adult and/or young adult population.
  • OR two (2) years of experience in a psychology or counseling doctoral program with individual counseling experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensure as a social worker, counselor, or marriage and family therapist.
  • Experience working with a college student population and working in a university/college counseling center. Experience and interest in working with diverse clients.
  • Experience with short-term therapy and outreach or prevention work.
  • Experience in crisis response or urgent appointments.
  • Ability to collaborate collegially with a multidisciplinary staff, both within the Counseling Center and throughout the CSU community.
  • Ability to effectively utilize an electronic medical records system.

  • Possess a high degree of confidentiality to available information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
