JOB DETAILS:

The University of Wisconsin-Stout (UW-Stout) is seeking applications for Associate Bursar. The Associate Bursar conducts daily student financial operations and consultations to support the efficient processing of student accounts. This individual also develops and delivers recommendations for policies and processes and represents the Bursar in their absence or at their discretion. This position is a two-year appointment, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum / Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Business-related field
  • Previous billing and collecting experience 
  • Proven ability to problem solve
  • Strong team building and collaboration skills 
  • Excellent customer service skills

Highly Desired/Preferred

  • PeopleSoft Campus Solutions software experience or other student information systems 
  • Previous supervisory experience

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Evaluates student tuition accounts, processes tuition payments, approves students for academic registration, generates and updates reports, and disseminates information to the appropriate entities 
  • Receives, investigates, and responds to complex tuition circumstances according to established policies and procedures
  • Serves students and their support systems providing tuition payment options and information and account status updates to ensure timely payments and processing 
  • Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of full-time employees 
  • Assists with the development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of policies and procedures for the billing and collection of tuition payments and other financial student account encumbrances institution wide in the absence of the Bursar  
  • Ensures compliance of federal and state rules and regulations with regards to student disbursements

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

*Annual salary of $56,800 - $70,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  UW System provides an excellent benefits package including participation in the Wisconsin State retirement plan, demonstrating our commitment to the diverse needs of our employees.
