Summary of Job Duties:

The Associate Budget Analyst, under the direction of the Director of Budget and Financial Planning, is responsible for preparing and analyzing large sets of data into financial reports, performs cost accounting and decision support functions; provides monthly, quarterly, and annual variance and statistical reporting to division business officers and senior leaders; provides assistance with capital leasing and capital projects to the Capital Budget Committee; analyzes and forecasts cash levels; assists with internal and external audits; assists with external reporting; aids in the development of institutional financial forecasting and modeling; provides assistance with budget development, reconciliation and reporting; processes position management requests, reviews and develops financial policies related to budgeting, position management, and financial forecasting; assists in preparation of Arkansas Division of Higher Education annual and biennial reports and forms; special projects for the campus; performs other duties incidental to the position.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related field, plus two (2) years of business or finance specific and one (1) year of budgeting or financial planning experience OR Post Grad plus one (1) year of business or finance and one (1) year of budgeting or financial planning experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides financial oversight, analysis and reporting related to annual budget cycle cost accounting, variance and statistical reporting, capital leasing and capital projects, cash management and forecasting, financial forecasting modeling.
  • Responsible for preparing and analyzing large sets of data into financial reports, performs cost accounting and decision support functions
  • Provides monthly, quarterly, and annual variance and statistical reporting to division business officers and senior leaders
  • Provides assistance with capital leasing and capital projects
  • Analyzes and forecasts cash levels
  • Assists with internal and external audits
  • Assists with external reporting
  • Aids in the development of institutional financial forecasting and modeling
  • Provides assistance with budget development, reconciliation and reporting
  • Assists in preparation of Arkansas Division of Higher Education annual and biennial reports and forms
  • Reviews and develops financial policies related to budgeting, position management, and financial forecasting.
  • Assists in the preparation of special reports, surveys, and requests by internal or external organizations
  • Ensures integrity of general ledger and position download data for campus-wide distribution
  • Provides assistance to staff and department managers in the construction of operating and biennial budgets
  • Provides assistance with position management and resource planning, including analysis and reporting.
  • Processes position management requests
  • Reviews and approves position management requests, as well as monthly reporting.
  • Updates and maintains Position Management Tracker reports as needed for new fiscal year and other applicable changes.
