The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Associate Athletic Director, Athlete Development and Performance
ROLE of the POSITION
This position exists to provide leadership, holistic oversight, and support to the areas of sports medicine, strength & conditioning, Psychology, Data Science, Nutrition, and coordination with athletic insurance providers.
This position is expected to develop a model department to ensure health & safety for all student-athletes in the development of the total student-athlete. The position will develop initiatives in alignment with industry best practices as they pertain to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to promote the overall well-being and total development of student-athletes.
This position will also be responsible for working with the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine in the development of a medical model designed to provide the utmost comprehensive care for UNLV student-athletes.
Reporting to the Deputy AD, COO the Assoc. AD, ADP performs duties under direct supervision but works independently to achieve and meet the department's core values (accountability, service, excellence, empathy, and integrity).
This position will serve on the Executive Leadership Team and the Mountain West (MW) Health and Safety Committee as needed.
This position will be responsible for health and safety presentations to all head coaches and their staff bi-annually as industry standards change to ensure everyone understands, adheres to, and operates with best practices.
This position should have a basic knowledge of NCAA rules as it pertains to assigned job duties and the scope of employment. In addition, this position will be responsible for obtaining proper guidance or approval from Athletic Compliance, prior to participating in select activities, as defined by NCAA bylaws or institutional policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and a minimum of five years of comparable professional experience in the Sports Medicine Profession. Master's Degree preferred. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
