Seeking an entry-level Applications Developer under the direction of the Senior Applications Developer and the Associate Director with a keen interest in coding for the modern web to join our development team. The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the front end of our web applications with a focus on creating high-quality, responsive websites using Next.js, crafting React components, and testing API endpoints using Postman. This role offers the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and grow technical skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing new features and websites using Next.js framework.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in alignment with our coding standards.
  • Create and maintain React components with a focus on functionality and user experience.
  • Utilize Postman to test and validate API endpoints to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with developer to understand the RESTful API structures and integrate them with the frontend.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and debugging applications.
  • Complete assigned tasks and projects within specified timeframes while maintaining quality standards.
  • Dedicate approximately 5% of your time to miscellaneous duties as needed, which may include research, documentation, and supporting other team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Understanding of version control tools, such as Git.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience with JavaScript.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with React and Next.js.
  • Experience with API platforming and testing tools such as Postman or Insomnia.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience developing encrypted middleware and using JWT for securing applications.
  • Experience in UI frameworks such as MUI or Chakra UI.
  • Experience using mapping APIs for web applications.
  • Detailed understanding of SEO principles.


Additional Information:

The offer for this position will be based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
