Position Summary

The University of Indianapolis is currently seeking an Associate Adjunct in Psychology to teach Abnormal Psychology at the undergraduate level. This is an outstanding opportunity for a professional to join a growing University as we expand our online academic programs.

Reporting directly to the Dean’s office in the College of Applied Behavioral Sciences, this part-time faculty position will support the fulfillment of the University’s mission, purpose and goals, focusing primarily on facilitating online student learning associated with prescribed course and program learning outcomes. The faculty position will create an educational environment which fosters innovation, responsiveness, and accountability, working with various schools and colleges across campus in order to assure compliance with programmatic accreditation and/or licensure, internal consistency, and graduate outcomes that meet student learning, workplace and placement expectations. The faculty member will actively and substantively participate in assessment of online student learning activities to maximize the potential for students to learn what is necessary to meet prescribed outcomes. As an Associate Adjunct, you will be responsible for teaching up to 21 credit hours a year with the possibility being renewed after this year.

Position Summary
-Courses will be delivered in an online format and the instructor will be responsible for:
-Delivering courses with clear outcomes, meaningful assignments, and transparent, timely assessment.
-Modeling effective teaching and professionalism.
-Managing inclusive, responsive learning environments.
-Attending and participate collaboratively in virtual department and faculty meetings.
-Being flexible and responsive in teaching and conduct office hours weekly, even if through electronic means, posted in the course for students.
-Coordinating the use of academic coaches as necessary based on course enrollments.

Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications)

Qualifications
-Master’s degree in specialty field required. Doctorate degree preferred.
-Prior experience with distance education techniques and delivery required.
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products.
-Prior experience.
