Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Associate Director of Housing Operations is a member of the housing operations leadership team. This position is primarily responsible for the oversight and management of housing technology. The Associate Director of Housing Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the technology infrastructure and operations within a Housing and Residence Life. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in technology management, housing operations, and a commitment to enhancing the resident experience through innovation. Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree is required.

Experience: Two years of related experience is required.

Job Duties:

  • 50% - Oversees the implementation and maintenance of technology systems. • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy for the housing department, aligning with the university's overall IT goals. • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends relevant to student housing. • Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of housing management software and systems including but not limited to StarRez, Transact, and eRezLife • Ensure seamless integration with other university technologies. • Utilize data analytics to gather insights into housing trends, occupancy rates, and student preferences. • Prepare and present reports to inform decision-making processes. • Drive the development and enhancement of mobile and web applications to streamline housing processes, such as room selection and maintenance requests. • Enhance the user experience through intuitive and user-friendly interfaces. • Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures to safeguard sensitive housing data. • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and university policies. • Provide training and support for housing staff on the use of technology systems and applications. • Identify opportunities for innovation in housing technology and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and user satisfaction. - (Essential)
  • 35% - Assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of housing operations. • Provides leadership, direction, and management for housing operations, which includes assignments and enrollment; budget development and oversight; move-in and move-out processes; facilities management, including building maintenance, furnishings, warehouse and inventory; new and existing service contracts; vendor relations; off-campus housing; summer housing operations, including student housing and conference housing; access controls in residence halls; and all technology for the department, including a housing management applications, and all website content and maintenance • Provides leadership for ongoing evaluation of services and programs within housing operations • Coordinates residence hall space needs, maintenance and renovation projects for residence halls • Liaises with relevant campus partners, including Space Management, Facilities Services, Transportation and Parking, Admissions and Enrollment Management, Athletics, Risk Management, and Information Technology - (Essential)
  • 10% - Provides training and development to staff • Provides leadership for staff in technology and housing operations • Selects, trains, and provides regular goal-setting and performance evaluations for housing and budget operations staff • Researches current trends in the area of technological support for student services • Develops, implements, and monitors the technological section of the Housing Strategic Plan • Makes recommendations for purchases, upgrades, etc. • Assists in the on-going development of the University One-Card System • Develops a transition plan to move assessment from paper to computer - (Essential)
  • 5% - Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. - (Essential)
