Job Summary
The Institutional Diversity Department is currently seeking an Associate Director for Hispanic/Latinx Programming and Student Support.
Responsibilities include:
• providing student services
• developmental education and leadership training with focus on Hispanic/Latinx students
• lead in implementing programs and coordinating events and initiatives including, but not limited to, identity-based student success programs (i.e. Black/Latino Male Initiative, Majestic Unity)
• assume a pivotal role in the IGNITE student welcome program
• manage the MLK Tapas & Conversation Series
• deliver workshops
• maintain and enhance community building efforts
• referring students to appropriate student support services within UK, i.e., counseling, tutoring, financial aid support, etc.
• serving on work teams, committees and special projects related to outreach, partnership development and operational support for MLK Center
• collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• serve as a liaison between Office for Institutional Diversity and other units/departments
• supervise and assist of the daily oversight of MLK interns
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Bilingual in English and Spanish with strong verbal and written communication skills in both; MS Windows, Word, Excel, Powerpoint,

Preferred Education/Experience
Degree in Social Work, Higher Education, or other Human Services. Strongly prefer Master’s Degree; 1 year professional experience in college readiness and access programming or educational community outreach; developing social-cultural programs with emphasis on Hispanic/Latinx students; verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English
