Position Summary:
The College of Education and Behavioral Science Associate Dean of Community Outreach and Engagement is responsible for providing oversight of the development, implementation and evaluation of community outreach and engagement. More specifically, the Associate Dean will design and oversee community engagement programs that align with academic goals and provide valuable learning experiences. The Associate Dean plays a crucial role in creating a bridge between the academic institution and the external community enhancing the development of both
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervises the following entities within the Community Outreach and Engagement Unit
- Develops the vision and direction for collaboration among the entities in Community Outreach and Engagement Unit
- Leads community outreach, assessing community needs and contributing positively to the social and economic aspects of the region
- Develops and markets initiatives to promote community needs
- Responds to community needs serving as an advocate and liaison
- Serves on various college committees, advisory boards and task force groups related to community engagement
- Provides leadership, direction, supervision and evaluation of the unit
- Develops and maintains print publications, social media and other marketing publications
- Oversees budgets, monitors expenditures and allocates resources
- Oversees all camps and community partnership initiatives for the College of Education and Behavioral Science (CoEBS)
- Identifies and cultivates partnerships with local organizations, businesses, government agencies and non-profits to create meaningful collaborations
- Leads community and school partnership engagement activities
- Collaborates with academic departments to integrate community engagement opportunities into the curriculum
- Fosters a culture of community engagement with the academic community
- Establishes metrics and evaluation methods to measure the success and impact of the outreach programs
- Oversees community service projects
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated teaching, scholarly and professional service achievements
Academic administrative experience at the level of chair or equivalent with successful leadership
Experience in the area of service
Strong management and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative initiatives
Demonstrated ability to successfully build and maintain networks and relationships with community, schools and partners
Ability to create a productive team environment
Successful leadership experience in the area of service
Experience serving on a variety of boards
Working knowledge of information technology, including digital and print marketing materials
Ability to communicate with various stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative initiatives and consensus building activities
Demonstrated ability to compile, analyze and interpret data
Relationships with Arkansas Department of Higher Education, Department of Human Services and the Department of Education
Experience with budget planning, managing, monitoring and adjusting
Ability to organize, prioritize and follow multiple initiatives/projects through to completion
Build and maintain positive and productive team environment
Analyze problems, identify solutions and take appropriate actions to promote community outreach projects
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:
A doctorate in one of the disciplines in the college (or closely related field) from a regionally accredited institution
