The Asst VP of UH Health Family Care Ctr (UHHFCC) manages and directs the UHHFCC under the direction of the Board of Directors. Proactively plans, directs, coordinates and reports on all activities, develops policies and procedures, short-term and long-range strategic plans, and business opportunities. May execute on behalf of UHHFCC all instruments requiring such execution unless directed otherwise by the Board of Directors.

  • Provides direction and leadership to achieve the organization's philosophy, mission, and strategy.
  • Establishes current and long-range objectives, plans and policies, subject to approval by the Board of Directors.
  • Serves as advocate/spokesperson for the organization both internally and externally regarding philosophy, values, mission, and goals.
  • Oversees day to day operating decisions made by others in the organization as well as designates appropriate leadership personnel to always provide UHHFCC with administrative direction.
  • Communicates frequently and effectively with staff; conducts training and educational sessions as needed; encourages group participation in continually improving operations.
  • Establishes clinic procedures in cooperation with physicians and other personnel to include but not limited to; interprets and administers policies established by the Board of Directors, develops and implements operational procedures for billing and claims processing functions, and ensures compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Directs the development of the annual operating budgets working with the Management Committee and key department and division managers in UHHFCC.
  • Oversees the Compliance Program to ensure compliance with internal control policies and procedures; reviews patient scheduling to ensure community needs are met. Oversees clinic compliances with Federal, State and county regulations.
  • Ensures UHHFCC compliance with the Articles of Incorporation under which it was formed and operates. Reports regularly to the Management Committee and Board of Directors on status of compliance.
  • 10. Reviews operating results in comparison with established objectives, plans and policies to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct any unsatisfactory results. Monitors and maintains accountability based on established objectives, plans and policies. 

    11. Oversees education and outreach activities to better increase the number of persons in the community to whom health care is provided. 

    12. Reviews and approves all contracts entered by UHHFCC. 

    13. Reviews purchase services contracts to ensure quality of service and competitive pricing and negotiates changes as needed. 

    14. Act as the chief spokersperson for UHHFCC in public forums, community groups, and conference panels. 

    15. Partners with University Marketing for all press and media events. 

    16. Is a non-voting member of the Board of Directors and chairs or serves as a member of various committees of the Board. 

    17. Leads and develops front end and revenue cycle operations. 

    18. Oversees operation and financial reporting required for compliance and day-to-day operations. 

    19. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. 

    FQHC experience preferred

    Qualifications

     

      Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: Requires a minimum of twelve (12) years of directly job-related experience. Preferred: At least five (5) years of senior-leadership experience supervising staff. Certification/Licensing: None.
    FQHC experience preferred
