Assistant Vice Provost for Online Financial Strategy and Analysis

Reporting to the Vice Provost and Dean for Online Learning, the AVP for Online Financial Strategy and Analysis is responsible for online business planning and modeling and for providing oversight of all Online Learning financial, HR, data analysis, information technology and business strategy functions.

Essential Functions

  • Serving as the liaison for OSU Online with OAA support offices in the areas of accounting/finance, HR, procurement, information technology and data analysis
  • Shaping and leading the financial strategy and analysis activities for the assigned unit, including multi-year financial plans, investment and breakeven analyses and partnering with OAA Business Services on the annual budgeting processes
  • Designing and leading the data analysis activities including enrollment projections, forecasts, tracking and all associated reporting
  • Developing and leading the analytics tool for tracking online enrollment, online student progress, online student lifetime value, online student ROI, online student conversion, retention and graduation rates.
  • Leading the business planning and modeling activities for existing and prospective online degree programs
  • Leading the data analysis activities for the assigned unit in collaboration with the university data analysis functions (e.g. university decision support, Institutional Research, etc.)

Duties

60%    Shaping and leading the financial strategy and analysis activities for the assigned unit, including multi-year financial plans, investment and break-even analyses, and partnering with OAA Business Services on the annual budgeting. Leading the data analysis activities for the assigned unit in collaboration with the university data analysis functions (e.g. university decision support, Institutional Research, etc...), including data governance, data science, and reporting and analysis. Designing and leading the data analysis activities including enrollment projections, forecasts, tracking and all associated reporting

25%    Developing and leading the analytics tools for tracking online enrollment, online student progress, online student lifetime value, online student ROI, online student conversion, retention, and graduation rates. 

15%    Serving as the liaison for OSU Online with OAA support offices in the areas of accounting/finance, HR, procurement, information technology and data analysis.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Ten (10) years of progressive analytics and/or financial management, including at least five (5) years of supervisory responsibilities
     

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Experience in higher education
  • Master’s Degree
  • Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst or similar licenses or certifications
  • Experience working with online program management organizations and processes

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands. Perform related duties based on departmental need.
