Job Description Summary

Under the strategic direction of the Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management, the Assistant Vice President of Education Center & Graduate Enrollment has overall responsibility for all activities related to the new student recruitment and admission of Education Center & Online Graduate students at Saint Leo University. The AVP leads the enrollment and manages prospective student communications and advising from the point of initial contact through matriculation.

Education Center Enrollment

  • Oversee new student recruitment and admissions at Education Centers
  • Maintain center enrollment reports each semester, as well as maintain weekly comparison reports by region and state in order to project enrollment outcomes.
  • Lead the hiring, training, and management efforts of a 10+ team including Center Enrollment Counselors and Assistant Directors of Admissions.
  • Work collaboratively with university stakeholders including academics, technology, and student services to ensure enrollment, retention, student satisfaction, and revenue objectives are achieved.
  • Develop initiatives to involve faculty, alumni and current students in the recruiting process.

Online Graduate Enrollment

  • Lead the hiring, training and management efforts of a 25+ employee student acquisition contact center.
  • Assists in the planning, implementation, and execution of marketing and recruitment materials and strategies for Education Center and Graduate academic programs.
  • Bring best practices in student acquisition and retention activities from online environments.
  • Ensure an outstanding enrollment-to-graduation experience for Education Center and online Graduate students.
  • Develop front-line recruitment and admissions managers into strong leaders and coaches.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure that enrollment, retention, student satisfaction, and revenue objectives are achieved.
  • Set prospective student communication plan from the point of initial contact through matriculations.
  • Provide insight into territory management - manages all assigned recruitment territory to yield a specific enrollment goal and develops a strategic plan to meet enrollment objectives for the assigned territory or student market.
  • Develop strategies for the mining of prospective applicant data, and create a plan for outreach and follow through that maximizes enrollment potential of qualified students.
  • Create and sustain a culture of excellence, community and integrity.
  • Provide clear processes to ensure employees have a solid understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Develop strategies for involving alumni and current students in the recruiting and mentoring process.
  • Provide input on development of department budget and ensure a solid return on investment of resources.
  • Ensure compliance with all Saint Leo policies and all federal, state and accreditation requirements.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge:

  • Seven or more years of progressive experience in successful admissions, recruitment, advising and contact center management, with at least five years in Higher Ed environment.
  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university required.
  • Experience managing a team of 40 or more employees.
  • Experience managing a budget, including setting budgets and budgetary priorities, forecasting, and meeting targets.
  • Professional work experience in admissions and financial aid is strongly preferred; as is experience working with CRM (Experience with SalesForce is a plus).

Skills:

  • Superior oral and written communications skills.
  • Superior organizational skills; ability to execute multiple objectives concurrently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and managing databases.
  • Proficiency in a second language other than English is preferred.

Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-driven, collaborative environment is a must.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and multiple weekends. Travel required.
  • Ability to engage a variety of constituents (prospective and current students, alumni and faculty, etc.) from many different cultural backgrounds.
