SOM – PSYCH - ARTS has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Assistant Childcare Director position.

The University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus seeks a full-time, University Staff (non-classified), Assistant to Childcare Director to work in the Addiction Research and Treatment Services (ARTS) at Ft. This position will act as a floating Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) and Large Child Care Center Assistant Director. This position will:

  • Provide direct childcare to children (infants, toddlers, preschoolers).
  • Provide a positive and enriching environment for all families and staff in center.
  • Assist with development, implementation and training/coaching on policies and procedures related to childcare licensing, quality standards, curriculum/assessment, and community resources.
  • Provide mock ITERS/ECERS ratings and provide recommendations and coaching for on-going quality improvement.
  • Assist with quality ratings and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate and follow-up with early intervention and ancillary services and providers.
  • Assist with programs such as Early Head Start, Colorado Shines other grant funded programs and initiatives.
  • Assist with developing and providing center events and community outreach.
  • Act as Director and provide oversight for center, staff and families when the director is not present for more than 60% in a given day of operation.
  • Perform other duties that are assigned or required.
  • Salary and Benefits:

    The starting salary range for this position has been established at $44,526-$66,790.

    Qualifications

     

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Presently Large Childcare Center Director qualified per current State of Colorado Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Use of Creative Curriculum and/or Teaching Strategies Gold or other evidence based curriculum and assessment tool.
  • Experience mentoring, training, or coaching using ITERS/ECERS, Colorado Shines, and/or child care licensing.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience providing services to vulnerable families (i.e. low income, trauma; domestic violence; mental health treatment; substance use disorder)
