JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Behrend invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position in statistics to begin Fall 2024. This position will be at the rank of lecturer or assistant teaching professor (depending on competencies, education, and experience.) A M.S. degree or higher in statistics or a related quantitative/applied field is required. This position will support an online/residential degree in data analytics, as well as residential courses in statistics and/or mathematics.

Teaching responsibilities in support of data analytics include courses in R and descriptive analytics. Candidates may contribute to other courses in the data analytics program commensurate with skills/experience in Python, SQL, data visualization, and machine learning.

The successful candidate is expected to: engage in scholarly activity; advise and mentor students; and perform service to the school and college. Candidates with scholarly interests/experience in bioinformatics are particularly encouraged to apply. After an initial two-year appointment, the position is renewable, contingent upon enrollment demands and job performance.
