Summary

The Department of Marketing invites applications for a qualified-rank (non-tenure-track) Assistant Teaching Professor specializing in the area of Business Communication starting August 2024. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, renewable position.
The AACSB accredited Allen W. and Carol M. Schmidthorst College of Business is housed in the Robert W. and Patricia A. Maurer Center, a newly renovated 50,000 square foot building in the center of campus. The College, whose undergraduate programs are ranked 69 by Poets and Quants, offers a wide selection of undergraduate specializations as well as MBA and specialized graduate degrees. Home to innovative programs like sales and services marketing, insurance and risk management, an entrepreneurship minor, and the Doctorate of Organization Development and Change, the College is dedicated to creating a personalized, interactive learning experience.

Essential Functions

 • Teaching 24 credit-hours per year primarily in Business Communications
• Coordinating Business Communications curriculum, schedule, and staff
• Demonstrate sufficient professional activity to maintain AACSB faculty qualifications
• Service to department, college, university, profession, and community


Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree earned by date of appointment in a business field from an AACSB accredited university 
• Five or more years of relevant, current, professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with:
• Master’s degree in hand in a business field from an AACSB accredited university
• Professional and/or teaching experience in Business Communications
• Strong potential to contribute to Department of Marketing programs, as well as the missions of the Schmidthorst College of Business and Bowling Green State University
