Job Description
In support of the Program Specialist, provides assistance in hiring, training and managing approximately 200 non-PhD Teaching Associates (TAs) in the Department of Mathematics; assists with TA training for new and in-service TAs; teaches lower division mathematics courses as appropriate to support functions;. Assists in managing the non-PhD teaching staff in the Department of Mathematics; this includes interviewing, hiring, training, supervising and overseeing the TAs, SIAs and casual employees in the Department; helps to increase TA training and support functions and to expand the Autumn teaching seminar; helps maintain the databases for staffing, office space and teaching evaluations; teaches some lower division mathematics courses each year.


Minimum Education Required
Master's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in mathematics or education-science &mathematics


Required Qualifications
At least two years of college mathematics teaching experience in a variety of undergraduate courses required; basic computer skills, both word processing and database management, required; excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and public speaking, required;

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with staff supervision, hiring and interviewing desired.

The pay range for this job profile is $22.16 - $29.54. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
