Assistant Support Manager, Media Services

The Assistant Support Manager is an essential team member with a 100% on-campus requirement and serves as part of a team of shift supervisors. The Assistant Support Manager of Media Services provides technical consultation and support to faculty, administrators, and staff to develop and support hybrid and distance learning initiatives in technology-enriched spaces. This position will perform repairs and small scope hardware installations, upgrades, and replacements and supervise students and temporary employees on the Media Services team.



Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related area
Required Experience:
3+ years experience with technical support; customer support/service; installations, troubleshooting and configuration of a wide range of multimedia technologies, programming control systems and devices, analyzing hardware, software and systems' performance, supervision of staff/students, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
2+ years Experience in an academic and/or technical support environment. Ideal Certifications: CQ-T, CTS-I.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Applied concepts in acoustics and lighting (control and layout). Moderate understanding of AV over IP regarding the following product lines: Kraemer, Crestron, Cisco (network and videoconferencing), Polycom videoconferencing, Zoom, Zignage, Extron. Moderate understanding of IT network architecture and the impact of AV on a converged network. Basic understanding of computing procedures and standards and desktop configurations; excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to conduct training classes and presentations. Basic understanding of computing procedures and standards and desktop configurations. Ability to communicate with facilities, trades and end users. Able to break down complex ideation into common language for non-technical users. Ability to organize, manage and balance periodic projects that improve service and support operations.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Preferred knowledge in EMS workflows and building shopping carts in VEMS of AV supported services and rentals. Augmented reality and virtual reality.



In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $67,500.10 to USD $82,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
