As the assistant sports information director (ASID), you will share game day responsibilities and other athletics communication needs with the director, allowing for a more personalized experience for every artist-athlete and for more sport-specific attention. You must be able to use social media to fully highlight our artist-athletes and their interests and accomplishments both inside and outside of athletics. In this position you will compile schedules, rosters, and stats to coordinate the publication of seasonal media guides for designated intercollegiate sports; ensure all artist-athletes names and hometowns are spelled correctly; and maintain close working relationships with the marketing and PR departments to ensure cohesive and current information for the internal and external communities.

The successful candidate must attend home games to detail the scoring for all assigned sports and manage the information on the athletics website, including writing sports stories and inputting images. Additionally, you will oversee student workers, manage SCAD Athletics social media, and assist the sports information director with running of the office daily.

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Social media knowledge and capability
  • Adobe Suite expertise

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge in game statistics

Travel required:

  • Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
