Central Ohio is home to the AQHA Congress.

The Equine Field Service is located within the comprehensive Veterinary Medical Center and Galbreath Equine Center with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment including digital radiography, ultrasonography, computed tomography, 3 Tesla MRI, 128 Slice CT, Interventional Radiology/Medicine suite. The equine field service vehicles are equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, 1 meter and 3-meter endoscopes, PRP and prostride among other equipment and supplies to support a high-quality field service practice.

The candidates will perform on farm equine patient care within the Central Ohio equine community and will be supported by the comprehensive academic veterinary medical center. Primary responsibilities include year-round clinical teaching of professional students and interns. Shared primary and backup after-hours care is expected.

The majority of teaching responsibilities include clinical teaching of fourth year veterinary students and equine interns.  In addition, there will be involvement in pre-clinical core and elective didactic and laboratory courses.  The appointee is expected to foster a robust and diverse caseload in ambulatory practice through the delivery of leading-edge, comprehensive, and compassionate patient management; exceptional client/customer service; and outreach and engagement with the animal-owning public and other constituents. Faculty members are also expected to be involved in professional and community outreach, continuing education, committee service, and curriculum development.

Candidates will be assigned up to 80-85% time in clinics and the clinical teaching of students and advanced training of interns. Sponsored research is not required for clinical track faculty, yet clinical research, publications, or other scholarly activities to advance clinical veterinary medicine are expected and encouraged.

The appointee will join a program designed to maintain two full-time field service faculty and two field service interns.
