Position Overview

The Department of Molecular Biosciences, University of Kansas, seeks an assistant researcher with interests and experience in molecular biology and microbiology.  The successful candidate will work with a research group investigating fungal cell biology and secondary metabolism using genetic and molecular biological techniques. The position involves culturing fungi (particularly Aspergillus nidulans), DNA manipulations and molecular biology, and fungal transformations. This position consists of an initial 9-month appointment beginning Fall 2021 with a possibility of renewal.  The applicant should be well-organized, careful, work well with others, have a willingness to learn, and be able to participate at many levels in the laboratory.
