Assistant Research Scientist, Environmental Sciences

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Baylor’s Environmental Sciences department is seeking detail-oriented, analytical candidates for the Assistant Research Scientist Position. The Assistant Research Scientist will have tasks related to both, administrative duties, and research duties.
A doctoral degree, two years of experience, and an active Christian faith are required.  
Applications must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Managing orders and receiving deliveries
• Arranging group meetings
• Assisting monthly lab inspections/waste management requests
• Communicating with ENV front office
• Editing documents and maintaining SOP, biohazard, and SDS binders
• Provide resources to new and current lab members
• Update and manage the Sayes website
• Create and conduct experiments for interdisciplinary research related activities
• Apply relative skills needed to support complex research projects
• Process and analyze results of experimental data
• Perform complex analysis of data
• Contribute expertise on writings and reports
• Train and supervise employees in laboratory research
• Assist faculty on planning, executing, and reporting funded research activities
• Analyze and construct database applications and develop research ideas in support of university and department goals
• Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission.
• Ability to comply with University policies.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
