JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Evidence-to-Impact Collaborative, housed by the Edna Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center and supported by the College of Health and Human Development and the Social Science Research Institute at The Pennsylvania State University, invites applications for an Assistant Research Professor position. The team is seeking a professional with a focus on industry and policy community partnerships.
 

Competitive candidates will have a decade or more of government engagement experience in senior government management, particularly executive-level coordination with international governments, and a history of international and transnational relationship building. Competitive candidates should be able to independently manage relationships with domestic and international funder groups and have experience in conflict management and resolution in high-sensitivity areas. Competitive candidates will also have experience in research translation and be eligible to work in Switzerland.


Areas of interest include:

  • Evidence-based policymaking

  • Research on improving the use of scientific evidence for decision-making

  •  Science communication for policy audiences

  • Experimental study of strategies to accelerate research translation

 
We are particularly interested in research studying methods to bring scientists and policymakers together to support collaborative efforts to develop evidence-based policy. Successful applicants should demonstrate:

  • A clear program of research

  • Growing publication record

  • The capacity to support and

  • Lead grant proposals
     

An earned master's and the promise of outstanding scholarly accomplishments are required, including a history of leading research projects and grant proposals. The vision of the EIC is to enhance how research evidence and data are used in decision-making processes to create a positive impact and improve lives. Our team accomplishes this vision through transdisciplinary collaborations, generating and disseminating research evidence to policymakers, and computationally intensive economic evaluations of social programs. The EIC has a wide funding portfolio, including foundations, NSF, NIH, and state-level government grants.
