Position Summary
The IU School of Medicine (IUSM) Department of Anatomy, Cell Biology & Physiology has a position open for a Research Assistant Scientist. This is a faculty-level position. The faculty will work with Dr. Allison Norlander to design and execute basic and translational research projects. Specifically, the faculty will work on projects aimed at dissecting mechanism by which the immune system contributes to the development of hypertension. Dr. Norlander’s lab is affiliated with the Krannert Cardiovascular Research Center. Interested candidates with a background in physiology and/or immunology are strongly encouraged to apply. A background in one of these two areas is desired, along with previous use of and characterization of mouse models. The candidate will use a variety of approaches including mouse survival surgeries for induction of hypertension and measurement of blood pressure, processing and use of human immune cells derived from PBMCs, cell culture, flow cytometry, molecular, and imaging techniques.
Position level and compensation will be commensurate with experience. Additionally, professional development will be provided for and encouraged.

Basic Qualifications
Must have a PhD or MD or equivalent degree in physiology or immunology or related field with at least 3 years of postdoctoral experience.
