Position Highlights The Wertheim lab in the Department of Surgery is recruiting for an Assistant Research Professor, Non-Tenure Eligible. This position will work under the direction of Dr. Jason Wertheim. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop protocols to differentiate renal tissue using the knowledge of kidney tissue engineering and human stem cell culture.
  • Determine functionality of differentiated renal tissues both in vitro and in vivo using the knowledge of kidney tissue engineering and human stem cell culture.
  • Training and supervision of undergraduate students, medical students, graduate students as well as junior post-doctoral fellows using the knowledge of kidney tissue engineering and human stem cell culture.
  • Lead, contribute and participate in authorship of research publications and presentation using the knowledge of kidney tissue engineering and human stem cell culture.
  • Collect, analyze and graph data conclude research projects in a timely manner and write reports, manuscripts, and grants using the knowledge of kidney tissue engineering and human stem cell culture.
  • Develop research projects in addition to their primary research using the knowledge of kidney tissue engineering and human stem cell culture.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD or foreign equivalent.
  • 2 years of post- graduate experience as a research scholar. 
Preferred Qualifications *PhD or foreign equivalent, in Biotechnology or Biochemistry. *Knowledge of kidney tissue engineering and human stem cell culture. *Research experience in kidney biology and kidney regeneration. *Scientific understanding, skills of novel research through publications. *Experience in the field of organoid technology and implantation of novel tissues in animal models. *Experience in the generation of organoids, performing animal survival surgeries and implanting organoids under the kidney capsule of rodents. *Expertise in the field of organoid technology, animal surgeries, rat organ cannulation and decellularization.
