Office Of Registrar

The Assistant Registrar is responsible for assisting the University Registrar with maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and security of student academic records. Ensures the administration of quality customer-oriented services. Participates in the planning, development, maintenance, and enhancements of policies, processes and workflows. Serves as a key resource to faculty and administrative officers regarding student information and policies. The Assistant Registrar has authority over the Office of the Registrar in the absence of the University Registrar. 

Operation Administration: Supervises daily operations of the Office of the Registrar. Ensures compliance with university, state, federal and accrediting bodies policies. Collaborate with others to research, resolve and recommend action for problems and questions that arise concerning students' records. Helps interpret and enforce academic policies and regulations of the University.
 

System Administration and Technical Lead: Serves as lead for Banner upgrade testing. Evaluates and changes practices and processes for efficiency and to benefit students.
 

Supervision/Leadership: Provides leadership to the Office of the Registrar and assists with hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating.  Serve on University or system wide committees and workgroups as appropriate. Represents and leads office in absence of Registrar.   
 

Other: Provides professional and timely responses to students, faculty and staff inquiries. Works as part of the Office of the Registrar team and serves as support for events and activities such as orientation, commencement, Discovery Days, and others as required. Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.; Excellent customer service skills.; Excellent oral and written communication skills.; Strong motivation and high standard for excellence.; Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.; Minimum three years' experience in an Office of the Registrar, Enrollment, or Academic Advising.; Extensive working knowledge of Banner Student Information System.; Experience with strategic planning.
 

Preferred Qualifications include: Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university preferred.; Knowledge of SQL preferred.; Previous supervisory experience preferred.
 

The annualized salary range for this position is $45,842- $50,198 and includes full benefits. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include: Knowledge of rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to student records - FERPA.; Knowledge of University System of Georgia policies and procedures. Ability to be proactive and flexible.; Ability to supervise staff including developing work plans and assignments, instructing staff on     procedures and policies, monitoring staff performance, and conducting annual performance appraisals based on the staff member¿s goals for the evaluation period.; Ability to communicate effectively with other staff, faculty, students, parents, and students.; Ability to perform detailed and complex work tasks accurately and efficiently.; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, faculty and others.; Ability to speak in public.; Ability to de-escalate situations.; Ability to use discretion with confidential information.; Autonomy and independent judgement.; Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects.; Ability to analyze data and information in making decisions and solving problems.
