Position Summary

Responsible for the supervision of the graduation services area by providing oversight and leadership in relation to services and systems utilized to conduct graduation audits of all candidates for degrees and certificates. Ensures adherence to University academic policies governing degree requirements and serves as liaison between Registrar’s Office and other University units in enforcement, review and creation of policies and procedures related to graduation.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.
Two years of increasingly responsible professional work experience.
Two years experience in a higher education setting with demonstrated experience related to information systems, data analytics and regulatory compliance.
One year of supervisory experience.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build and maintain collaborative relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in interpreting and enforcing policies in a higher educational environment.
Experience in academic advising, success coaching, transfer credit evaluation or student record maintenance.
Student Information System, or applicable, configuration experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ensures approved degree requirements and University policies and procedures regarding graduation are incorporated and maintained in student information system.
Conducts quality assurance on all systems and processes related to graduation auditing.
Develops correspondence with students regarding graduation requirements.
Supervises, trains and evaluates graduation auditors executing routine audit tasks for undergraduate or graduate level credentials.
Supervises, trains and evaluates staff responsible for processing diploma production and distribution.
Coordinates with President’s Office on Commencement ceremonies.
Responsible for setting up calendars and workflows in order to meet graduation deadlines and compliance requirements related to change in student status due to conferral of credentials.
Assists University officials in trouble shooting individualized graduation concerns related to students.
Responsible for Certification Roster for recommendation to Michigan Department of Education for Provisional Certification.
