Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University, in Boca Raton, Florida is seeking a Assistant Provost for the Department of Institutional Effectiveness and Analysis. Duties and responsibilities include serving as Assistant Provost for Institutional Effectiveness and Analysis (“IEA”), with duties and responsibilities to include managing the development, enhancement, maintenance, and training of information resource data to support decision making, planning, and reporting within the University community.

Specifically, position will be responsible for: providing information and analysis to support academic and administrative decision making, strategic planning, and strategic initiatives; designing and conducting special studies and surveys; preparing oral and written presentations; developing and maintaining an interactive reporting website with information including University facts and statistics; responding to information requests from internal and external constituents; completing surveys and reports for federal, state, and private agencies; preparing department profiles and workload analyses for academic program review; supporting campus-wide assessments and accreditation efforts; assisting campus constituents in using and interpreting institutional data; and assembling task forces, as needed.

Position will be responsible for managing a team comprised of an Assistant Director of Analytics; 2 Programmer/Systems Analysts; an Administrative Assistant; an Associate Director of IEA; a Coordinator, Statistical Research; a Business Intelligence Analyst; and 2 Data Scientists.

This position will also include an academic component, with responsibilities to include developing and providing training on the many decision support tools created by the IEA as well as developing and teaching interdisciplinary courses and seminars on graduate research design and data analysis for graduate students engaged in graduate level research projects, theses, and dissertations.

Position requires a Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Psychology, Statistics, or a closely related field and 6 years (72 mos) of direct leadership experience in Institutional Research. At least 24 credit hours of graduate-level course work in Probability, Statistics, or Data Analysis. Prior experience must have involved conducting surveys, developing advanced statistical models, developing Key Performance Indicators, and supporting assessment and accreditations.
