DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

The Marketing and Digital Strategy team in Advancement and Alumni Engagement consists of marketing, social media, and digital strategists with a passion to engage and persuade donors to invest in the work of Emory. This will be a 12-month assignment and will terminate upon the completion of defined endpoints with no guarantee of employment thereafter. This position will report to the Director of Marketing Strategy.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Assists in the development and implementation of program initiatives which may include the preparation of briefing materials, reports, correspondence and other documents, performing research, developing and maintaining databases, and developing promotional materials.
  • Communicates with national and possibly international program contacts.
  • Tracks program expenditures, and may participate in the budget preparation process.
  • May draft, edit and process grant proposals.
  • Prepares and distributes reports.
  • Coordinates logistical arrangements for meetings, conferences and travel.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITONAL JOB DETAILS:

In addition to the duties outlined above, the Assistant Program Coordinator may be required to:

  • Support team and school/unit leadership in managing and organizing special projects and events.
  • Utilize virtual technology platforms to support conference calls and meetings.
  • Respond to all internal and external inquiries and requests for assistance promptly and professionally.
  • Assist in the organizing of promotional events and traditional or digital campaigns and attend them to facilitate their success.
  • Brainstorm social media campaigns.
  • Create social media posts including verbiage and multimedia assets.
  • Research industry innovation and tools.
  • Prepare reports on campaigns based on analytics.
  • Perform community management on all social media platform including responding to comments, direct messages, and outreach to constituent accounts to generate interest and to increase engagement.
  • Take photos/videos at local events or on campus to use for posting social media posting

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful candidates will possess strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with a commitment to excellent customer service, and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Experience with various technologies including advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, mass email applications, database and project management software, and CRM systems.
  • Excellent knowledge and comfort of social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok.
  • Experience with video/photo editing software including but not limited to adobe creative suite.
  • Eagerness to learn about new innovations and software.
  • Prior experience in marketing or social media.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
