Description
The Department of Molecular Biosciences at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level in cell and developmental biology. We will also consider mid-career candidates at the early-stage Associate Professor level. One of these positions is for a scientist addressing questions related to plant development, cell biology and/or cross-species interactions between plants and pathogens/parasites/symbionts. The other position is for a scientist addressing questions in animal embryonic development, cell biology, disease modeling, and/or stem cell biology. The Department of Molecular Biosciences is composed of a broad faculty whose research interests span many disciplines including biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology and biophysics, cell and developmental biology, plant biology, microbiology, immunology and infectious diseases, biotechnology, and systems and synthetic biology. For both positions we are particularly interested in candidates whose research utilizes novel molecular, genomic, biochemical and/or imaging approaches that complement existing faculty within the department.

The department has strong ties to other research units at UT Austin, including the School of Engineering, School of Pharmacy, Department of Computer Science, and Dell Medical School.
