The Clinical Scholar Track is for full-time faculty members who are heavily involved in clinical service, education, and related scholarship. This track has two career paths: Clinician-Educator concentrating on teaching and Clinician-Investigator for concentrating on research/scholarship. Significant contributions in professional and academic service are required for both paths.
Job Description:
  • The University of Kansas Health System, Kansas City, KS
    Seeking an emergency medicine physician to be an integral member of a growing emergency department a 52-bed emergency department serving a 850-bed Level I trauma center and flagship medical center. This position will work specifically in Hyperbaric and Wound Medicine.

    • Greater than 62,000 patient ED visits per year
    • Certified STEMI center
    • Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center
    • Nationally certified adult and pediatric burn center
    • Nationally certified Poison Control Center
    The University of Kansas Medical School
    • Sole academic medical center in the state serving over 800 medical students and over 3,500 students across all disciplines
    • Over $50 million in NIH-funded research
    • Opportunities for paid teaching positions in newly-redesigned medical school curriculum, including in small-group facilitation and simulation
    TUKHS Emergency Department

    • Emergency Medicine Residency Program (30 residents)

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: MD or DO designation
  • Work Experience: Previous experience in hyperbaric.
  • Skills: Completion of ACGME Hyperbaric Fellowship, and wound care experience.

Job Duties Outlined:

  • Clinical shifts in wound clinic.
  • Complete needed hyperbaric dives.
  • Clinical teaching of medical students and residents
  • Participation of formal didactic instruction to medical students and residents
