Job Summary:

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus School of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is seeking a 1.0 FTE Assistant Professor as an Academic Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (APP). The candidate will provide medical services in both inpatient and outpatient environments. Clinical care will be provided at Children's Hospital Colorado and potential sites within the network of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical responsibilities focused on the care of children with acquired brain injuries but may include other patients seen within the CHCO Rehabilitation Program.
  • Provide initial, ongoing, and comprehensive care for patients with injuries ranging in severity from concussion to severe acquired brain injury.
  • Identify and incorporate the best current evidence with clinical expertise and patient/family preferences and values for delivery of optimal health care.
  • Support the continued growth of the department at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
  • Teaching responsibilities include participating in the education of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine fellows, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residents, APP students, and medical students. 
  • Participation in quality improvement activities.
  • Actively pursue and support research activities.

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) from an accredited institution
  • Licensed or licensed eligible in Colorado
  • Specific experience in a pediatric hospital setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years’ experience in the care of children with complex neurological conditions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
  • Proven ability to care for patients with high complexity, both medically and psychosocially
  • Leadership ability and commitment to advance diversity and inclusion

    Anticipated Pay Range:

    The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

    $125,000 to $154,500 

    The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
