Position Description:

We are seeking a full-time psychologist with expertise in treatment of patients with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, avoidant-restrictive food intake disorder and related disorders.  Appointment will be a combined 1.0 FTE with University of Louisville School of Medicine, Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry & Psychology,  affiliated with the Norton Children's Medical Group. 

Primary responsibilities include evaluating and treating children/adolescents with eating disorders and their families in an inpatient medical setting admitted for medical stabilization; providing outpatient treatment; actively collaborating to provide integrated psychological care as a member of the Norton Children's Hospital multidisciplinary team; assisting in further developing programs; implementing empirically-based treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, FBT, and ACT; and serving as a consultant to Norton Healthcare medical staff.

This position offers the opportunity to participate in program development related to possible services available to treat eating disorders (e.g., IOP).  The psychologist will also be involved with training psychology residents in our APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship in Clinical Child/Pediatric Psychology, as well as educating child psychiatry residents, psychiatry residents and medical students. While the position is primarily clinical in focus, the faculty member will have opportunities for research and clinical innovation.

Applicants must have:

  • Doctorate in clinical child psychology or clinical psychology
  • Completed an APA-accredited internship
  • Completed a post-doctoral fellowship focused in clinical child psychology, pediatric eating disorders
  • Expertise in providing evidence-based treatment for eating disorders
  • License-eligible in the state of Kentucky
