Position Description:

Pediatric Psychologist (Pain Management)  

The UofL School of Medicine, affiliated with Norton Children's Behavioral & Mental Health and a part of Norton Children's Medical Group, is seeking a fellowship-trained pediatric psychologist to join its established program in Louisville, Kentucky. The practice is looking to add psychologists to its multidisciplinary team of more than 25 clinicians, including child and adolescent psychiatrists, pediatric psychologists, nurse practitioners, and licensed clinical social workers providing direct patient care.

Norton Children's Behavioral & Mental Health, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, provides outpatient and inpatient mental health care for children ages 2 to 21. Patients and their families have access to child psychiatric and psychological evaluation and treatments. Services include medication therapy and a broad range of individual, group, and family therapies. Norton Children's Behavioral & Mental Health evaluated over 15,900 children and adolescents in 2022 for inpatient and outpatient therapeutic services and emergency psychiatric services, with more than 700 admissions each year to the Ackerly Child Psychiatric Unit at Norton Children's Hospital.

Job Description

  • Pediatric psychologist with training and experience in pain management to work with patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Appointment will be a combined 1.0 FTE with Norton Children's Medical Group, affiliated with the University of Louisville School of Medicine, Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry & Psychology.
  • This position involves providing evidence-based care as part of our multidisciplinary pediatric subspecialty teams.
  • The psychologist will be involved with training psychology residents in our APA-accredited predoctoral internship in Child Clinical/Pediatric Psychology, as well as post-doctoral psychology fellows, and will contribute to the education of child psychiatry residents, pediatrics residents, and medical students.
  • While the position is primarily clinical in focus, the faculty member will have opportunities for research and clinical innovation.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Doctorate in clinical, school, or counseling psychology
  • APA-accredited internship
  • Post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology
