JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Assistant Professor (tenure-stream) in Pharmacology

The Department of Pharmacology at Penn State College of Medicine, in Hershey, PA, invites applications for a tenure-stream faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor in the area of cannabis or cannabinoid research.  The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing an independent research program around cannabis and inflammatory bowel disease and assist with the development of a medical cannabis certificate program for graduate and medical trainees.  The candidate is expected to assume a leadership role within the Center for Cannabis & Natural Product Pharmaceutics (CCNPP), and therefore administrative experience is preferred.  Candidates should have a Ph.D., M.D. and/or equivalent degree, applicants familiar with the medical cannabis program in Pennsylvania are encouraged to apply.

The CCNPP has members that span the main campus of Pennsylvania State University located in University Park (State College, PA), Penn State Harrisburg, and other Commonwealth Campuses.  As a new center at the Penn State College of Medicine, the CCNPP is currently in a state of growth and development.  The new faculty member will have an active role in shaping and growing the CCNPP.

Hershey Medical Center.  The town is only minutes from the state capital in Harrisburg and larger metropolitan areas such as Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC, and New York, are a few hours drive.
