Creighton University, a private, Catholic Jesuit institution, invites applications for a full time (12-month) tenure-track Assistant Professor position for the EdD in Interdisciplinary Leadership Program in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies in the Graduate School, beginning July 2022. The EdD in Interdisciplinary Leadership Program is an online, practitioner-based doctoral degree for adult lifelong learners with enrollment of approximately 250 students from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds including, but not limited to: government, military, education, health care, non­profit leadership, and business.

Job requirements include teaching at the doctoral level, providing academic advising for students, chairing and supervising dissertations, and ensuring continuity of the interdisciplinary leadership approach. The position provides an opportunity to collaborate on curriculum development and develop educational resources. Participation in departmental meetings and professional societies to maintain levels of expertise is an expectation of all full-time faculty members. In addition, the Program expects meaningful academic service to the Program, Department, Graduate School, University, and the broader local community. The successful candidate is expected to develop a productive program of research within their area of expertise. Individuals with expertise in critical race theory, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, intersectionality, decolonization, and the scholarship of teaching and learning are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to teach four out of five 8-week online doctoral-level courses each year in a variety of leadership-related topics commensurate with their expertise, for example: Social Science Research Design and Professional Inquiry, Applied Ethics, Social Justice and Leadership, Policy Analysis and Development, Organizational Theory and Behavior, Systems Thinking, and/or Data Analysis and Use for Qualitative Methods/Quantitative Methods.

The ideal candidate will also show non-academic professional experience and evidence of work as a scholar-practitioner who can apply leadership theories in a variety of disciplinary settings.

Qualifications:

A PhD or EdD or other terminal degree in a discipline appropriate for an interdisciplinary leadership program with a social science focus

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to work collaboratively on a team in an interdisciplinary environment

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport with, and empathy and compassion for, a diversity of populations
